JFK Class of 1969 After graduation from JFK he did some graduated work at Central Michigan University and then transferred to Kearney State University and earned a degree in education. Jan and Lynette Djernes were married in 1971. Goldie taught in Greeley Nebraska and then was accepted to the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. After graduation from COMS he completed an internship in family medicine at Tucson General Hospital in Arizona. Jan and Lynette then moved to Saginaw, Michigan where he joined his father’s medical practice. Goldie and Lynette have one son. While in practice he served on the boards of the Saginaw County Osteopathic Society, the Michigan Osteopathic Association, Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital, Saginaw General Hospital. He served as the director of DOT. Jan actively volunteered as an Assistant Boy Scout Leader. After retiring from over 30 years of private family practice he worked as a prison doctor for the State of Michigan and as a locum tenens. Jan enjoys cooking, working in his wood shop making toys, as well as hunting and fishing. Jan’s current favorite pastime is spending time with Lyn at their cottage.
