Edmond Raimond Mancini
Edmond Raimond Mancini, 66, of Corning, NY, formerly of Eastchester, NY died Saturday, April 13, 2013, after a valiant battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma for over twelve years.
He was born January 21, 1947, the son of Raimond and Jean (Cabaret) Mancini both who predeceased him.
He was also predeceased by his beloved son, Eddie, who died in 1988. Ed was a graduate of Eastchester High School in Eastchester and John F. Kennedy College in Nebraska.
Ed thoroughly enjoyed his new home in the Southern Tier where he moved after meeting his wife, Judith Cross.
He was a communicant of All Saints Parish and a proud member of the Corning Rotary.
Ed was a passionate, big-hearted, caring neighbor and friend who never hesitated to assist those in need.
Rally-at-the-Alley, Wineglass Marathon, Market Street activities, Rotary fund raising, hockey nights – Ed was there to volunteer to ensure success. “Valentines for Vets” was his endeavor which brought together scores of community members (mostly young people) to honor our nation’s veterans with valentines.
He was a cheerful helper whose only motive was to leave the world a better place.
In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Nicole (San Marco) Mancini, and their children, Edmond Trey and Maggie Rose; brother, William (Theresa) Mancini; nephew, Christopher Mancini, and many Mancini and D’Alessandro relatives with whom he enjoyed the exchange of family stories.
