Edie Reese 1944-2012
Edith Ione Reese, 68 died peacefully at home with her family on April 23, 2012. Edith “Edie” was born in Wahoo, Nebraska on March 2, 1944. She married Richard Ives Reese in 1964 and they had two children, Lisa and Richard. She was widowed in 1968 and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1970.Edie was known for her sense of humor and contagious laugh. She made friends wherever she went and would always find a way to connect with a person regardless of age or background; she was sincerely interested in what a person had to say. Edie embraced life and all of its experiences with courage, grace and a big smile. She was a source of strength and support for numerous friends, family members and co-workers. Edie is survived by her daughter Lisa Reese, son-in-law Kent Nixon, 15 year old grandson Willow, her son, Richard Reese, girlfriend Tara Beals and 11 year old granddaughter Alexis, of Fort Collins. She is also survived by her beloved brother Wallace “Wally” Polak and family of Bellvue, Nebraska and countless cherished friends, young and old. Edie’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for all of the love, support and guidance throughout her life and especially during the last several months. She will be dearly missed. A celebration of her life will be held on May 12, 2012 at 4pm at her home.
