Kathleen A. Bull

July 28, 1951 - December 1, 2022

Kathleen A. Bull, age 71 of Seminole, FL. formerly of Wisconsin passed away December 1, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  Kathleen "Kathy" was born July 28th, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa, daughter of Ronald and Rita Bull. 

Kathy attended High School in Mt. Carroll, Il. and after graduating she attended John F. Kennedy College in Wahoo, Nebraska obtaining a degree in communications. She started a long and successful softball career.  After college ball she joined the West Allis Banketts, a semi-pro team out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Kathy then moved to Madison, Wisconsin and played and coached on various teams.  She then became a successful coach at Madison Area Technical College and Milwaukee Area Technical College leading the softball teams to many championships. She remains atop the list of winning percentage for softball coaches. During this time, she worked as a driver for a courier service. 

Kathy started her own business of ABull Courier. Sold that business to CS Logistics, where she worked as a manager of the Madison location.  

Kathy enjoyed camping and fishing in the Oxford, Wisconsin area.  Where Camp-Lot-A-Bull became a favorite spot for her, family and friends.  Many memories were made around campfires and fishing derbies.

Although she retired from the game several years ago, God called her up from the "bullpen".  He wanted to see her gift, her talent and her strength and her competitive spirit one more time.  As when any coach called and needed her, she put on her cleats, dusted off her glove, put on her hat and came out to the pitchers mound.  As she heard "batter up" she saw an opponent she had never faced before and never wanted to face.  Cancer was standing in the batter's box.  How could cancer be at the plate?  Several emotions rushed through her and all of us.... shock, disbelief, fear, sadness and anger.  Eventually she knew she had to get on the mound to try to strike cancer out.  She threw every pitch she had in her arsenal and kept cancer at bay for a long time, but even the best pitchers can rarely go 7 innings.  Bottom of the 7th and God came to collect her from the mound.  The laces on the ball were worn, her cleats were full of dust, her arm was sore and tired, and he knew she had given it her all.  It was time for her to join him in his dugout in Heaven.  (from a tribute by friend Amy Bloom).

Kathy will be dearly missed by her life companion M "Lou" Burbach of Seminole, FL., son Blake A. Burbach-Bull of Portage, Wisconsin, sister Rhonda (Marvin) Cass of Solan, Iowa, Paula Losch of Seminole, FL., brothers Ronald (Martha) Bull of Thomson, Illinois, Thomas Bull of Pinellas Park, FL., and sister-in-law Joy Bull of Springfield, Illinois.

Kathy, Aunt "Boppie" will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Rita Bull, brother Donald Bull, nephew David Cass.

 The family of Kathy want to express their gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Moffitt Cancer Center.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.
