Penny M. Azar, 44, of New York City, formerly of Allentown, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Kelly Colganb-Azar. They were married 23 years in September.

A graduate of John F. Kennedy College, Wahoo, Neb., he was manager of Mount Sinai Hospital Blood Bank, New York City, for five years. Before that he worked in the blood laboratory of Lehigh Valley Hospital, and was blood manager for the Red Cross in Kyoto, Japan, for seven years.

Born in Guadeloupe, French West Indies, he was a son of Diab and Michelle (Roger) Azar of Emmaus.

He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, New York City.

He was past chairman of the Blood Band Supervisors Association of New York.

Survivors: Wife and parents; brother, Jean-Pierre of Royersford and sister, Michelle, wife of Craig Weidman of Sellersville.

Memorial Mass: 2 p.m. Friday, St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus. Arrangements, Campbell Funeral Home, New York City.
