Professor Robert Wiseman 1934-2010
Robert Lee Wiseman, 75, of Moberly died Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar, MO.
Mr. Wiseman was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on September 20, 1934. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the Episcopal church. He will be remembered by many for his 50-year career as professor of history and geography, most recently at Moberly Area Community College. Robert volunteered at the Little Dixie Regional Libraries and served on the Friends of the Library board. His family remembers him as a storyteller extraordinaire.
Mr. Wiseman is survived by two children Jonna Gail Wiseman Humphries and Eric McQuistion Wiseman of Columbia, grandson Ian Matthew Wiseman of Kansas City, bother William Wayne Wiseman of Cleveland, Ohio and sisters Mary June Boydston of Fairplay and Julie Ann Mabry of Collins, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Frank C. and H. David and parents Frank and Esther Wiseman. Their immediate family was known in early vaudeville as The Wiseman Players.
His ashes will be interred in a private service at the Wiseman family plot in Gassville, Arkansas.
