Married my college sweetheart Jeanne Schliffke - raised two children and now proud grandparents of 5 grandchildren.
My first job out of college was with NBC News business affairs then onto Kennecott Copper in Cost accounting finally ended my downtown NY employment with Columbia pictures. After a 5 year stint with Chemlawn managing a site on Long Island I opened my own lawn care business similar to Chemlawn.
Getting older and in need of more corporate stability than I had with chemical applications I was employed by Anthem health insurance as manager. After 18 years with Anthem my tech department was outsourced to Dell. I manage Dells Tech support for Eastern US. Five years later Dell lost their contract with Anthem which landed me back with Anthem managing the same region as I did with Dell.
I found time to coached baseball for 16 years and boys volleyball for 18 years at a local Albany NY high school (Shenendehowa) and briefly coached Siena College men’s volleyball club.
I enjoy fly fishing and Jeanne and I enjoy being grandparents, kayaking & hiking the Adirondacks - where we call home.
Recently, I founded the USQA- United States Quadrathlon Association which is similar to the Triathlon Association but with kayaking as the fourth event. The USQA is recognized by the WQF- World Quadrathlon Federation as the sanctioning body for the US. When we’re fully operational we could send a US team to complete in the WQF World Cup.
Oh, and I also find time to be retired!
